Common Traits:
Comfortable in the elements. Alfar are as one with nature as the Sidhe. Elegance enhances everything they do, with knowledge that the end sleep is never their last.
Appearance
General:
Alfar are a greatly diverse race, varying in skin tone, hair and eye colouration. All Alfar have no or little facial hair, and elongated pointed ears. The older the person, the longer the ear. They also tend to be graceful.
Minimum Makeup Requirement:
Below is a description of what is expected when representing certain variations of the Alfar. The minimum requirement would be medium/long ear tips.
Variations:
-
• Lysa - are the more tribal clan of the Alfar, and their style reflects that.
-
• The majority of their clothes should reflect leaves, bark, sticks, terrain they may be amongst. They use layers to make their clothing look like leaves, trees and bramble. Accented by animals parts, antlers, feathers, fur.
• Influenced the northern human clans with their half braided hair.
- • Golds and coppers are traditionally worn as accents in clothing.
• Hair tends to be braided back in tighter knit braids so hair does not get in the way of fighting.
• Metallic cords (favouring golds and coppers) are usually braided into the hair.
- • As travellers they love layers.
• They tend to wear patchwork cloaks of deep blue and purple.
• Most likely to have half-Alfar babies.
- • They tend to wear purples with deep orange, gold or silver accents, and, usually with a green-and-gray cloak that blends well with the colours of the forest.
• More visually elegant braids are worn in the hair.
- • Their clothes are elegant, like that of the Ljós and Kveld, and dark to reflect their natural environment.
• Hair usually worn down or in the braid style of whichever clan they had started life as centuries ago. No hair jewelry or cords are worn at this stage.
-
• The more corrupt they become the more they take pride in the corruption and wear it as a badge of honour, so do not cover it.
• Makeup needs to make your type of alfar visually look like they have been corrupted or are being taken over.
